Psychological Assessment

While IQ tests may persist for certain purposes, the monopoly of those who believe in a single general intelligence has come to an end.
— Howard Gardner, Ph.D.

Comprehensive evaluations are carried out for a range of reasons. These may include providing diagnostic clarification for various neurodevelopmental conditions including presentations across the Autism Spectrum and Attention-Deficit / Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), learning disabilities, or mood disorders. Assessments are also used in providing treatment recommendations or identifying appropriate accommodations for work or school.

Dr. Benjamin has assessed children and adults in medical, educational, and private practice settings including Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Dr. Benjamin is experienced in incorporating both qualitative, and qualitative data in comprehensive assessments. These measures include various Wechsler intelligence scales for children and adults, Wechsler achievement scales, executive functioning measures such as the CPT-3, personality assessment measures including the MMPI-III, autism assessment measures including the ADOS-2, as well as projective measures including the R-PAS Assessment System for the Rorschach ink blot test. Integrating these various tests within an assessment battery allows for a multifaceted snapshot of the individual.
